Breaux Bridge, LA – Two senior citizens were violently attacked inside a Walmart store by a suspect who ultimately ran out of the business naked.
The brutal assaults took place at the Walmart store on Rees Street on Aug. 5, KLFY reported.
Cell phone footage showed the shirtless suspect as he wandered around the store wearing only red boxer shorts and a full black facemask.
The attacker, later identified as 30-year-old Kendrick Zenon, suddenly became irate as he was speaking with a store employee.
A moment later, Zenon lashed out and punched another nearby employee in the face, the video showed.
The 72-year-old worker he hit stumbled and fell to the ground before a crowd of customers and coworkers rushed in to assist him, Breaux Bridge Police Chief Rollie Cantu told KLFY.
After a brief wrestling match with store employees, Zenon stripped down naked and allegedly attacked a 68-year-old man inside the store, according to Chief Cantu.
Onlookers screamed and initially ran after the attacker, but ultimately backed away from him as he headed for the front doors.
The suspect ran out of the store wearing only his “birthday suit,” the chief said.
Police apprehended Zenon a short while later and transported him to a local hospital for evaluation under an order of protective custody, KLFY reported.
He will be served with an arrest warrant for obscenity and battery of the infirm as soon as he is discharged from the hospital, according to Chief Cantu.
The elderly men Zenon allegedly assaulted did not suffer any serious injuries, the chief said.
They were treated at the scene and are expected to recover.
