SANTA CRUZ, Calif. – Jane Technologies, Inc., a retail software company that created the leading online cannabis marketplace, has announced the launch of Ownership Tags in its e-commerce platform. The tags provide customers with a new way to filter search results by looking for dispensaries that are owned by underrepresented groups such as, women, LGBTQ, minorities or veterans.
Currently, it’s not just time-consuming, but also complicated for shoppers to parse out who exactly is involved in the ownership of certain dispensaries. The Ownership Tags easily allow customers to support underrepresented groups while making a cannabis purchase. Dispensaries in Jane’s system can choose to tag their store(s) with one or more of the ownership tags – BIPOC, LGBTQ, Woman or Veteran. When shopping on Jane, shoppers can use the filters at the start of their search or find specific products at stores they wish to support.
“Today, more than ever, shoppers understand that how and where they spend their dollars can drive real economic impact,” said Socrates Rosenfeld, Co-founder and CEO of Jane Technologies. “Ownership Tags allow customers to shop with their heart right in their own local community.”
At launch, Ownership Tags will be available to Jane’s network of dispensaries – over 1,600 stores in 33 states. Jane plans to offer Ownership Tags to brands as well in the near future.
