Hillary Clinton recently targeted Donald Trump on his ineffective coronavirus policies. She said that she would have done a better job.
Coronavirus cases have been on the rise since January, particularly in the United States. The new reported cases have shown an exponential increase. A few days ago, 51,000 new cases per day in the U.S. were recorded –highest across the globe.
It has been around 9 months since the epidemic started. Numerous attempts have been made to control its spread; however, no fruitful outcome has been seen. Researchers and scientists are also actively working to develop a vaccine. It is expected to be ready by January.
Coronavirus in U.S.
Out of all the countries, U.S. saw the biggest wave of coronavirus cases. Up till now, there have been 2.8 million confirmed cases with more than 131,000 deaths in the country. The curve started going down in mid-June, however, the new cases have started increasing again.

This time, the rate of increase is greater than the previous months. Many believe, this is the second wave of coronavirus. According to reports, there will be a total of 3 waves, after which there is a chance that the virus will start to die down.
Recently, Hillary Clinton said in an interview that she could have done a better job at managing the policies than her former rival, Donald Trump. The interview was about a documentary about Clinton’s life that is scheduled to release this year. It was held as a part of The Hollywood Reporter’s Awards Chatter podcast.
Clinton took the chance to hit Trump where it hurts. His coronavirus policies have certainly been ineffective and have reduced the chances of him getting reelected for presidency.
Clinton said, “We sure could have done a better job saving lives, modeling better, more responsible behavior”. She further added, “I don’t think we necessarily should have had as deep an economic assault on livelihoods and jobs as we have. So I know I would have done a better job.”
She talked about the issue and expressed her annoyance on being sidelined. She is working hard to counter the epidemic and raise money for medical equipment. However, if she was in a position of power, she could have been more productive and effective.
The coronavirus has been affecting Trump’s reelection campaign for around 4 months. With the economic crisis, the current president has struggled to gain people’s support. Further, the recent violence at “#BlackLivesMatter” protests also indicated his lack of competence.
The previous secretary of state expressed her feelings of frustration throughout the interview. She even called him a “vindictive score-settler”. Further, she thinks that it should be a lesson for the nation to realize how it is to elect an unprepared candidate for presidency.
Clinton said, “Part of what he does in the way he lashes out is because, deep down, he knows the Russians helped him, despite his incredible efforts to deny it. He knows WikiLeaks helped him. He understands all of that”.

Even though, all points made by Clinton are fair and apt, many people believe she is merely being vindictive. Trump supporters think that she was lashing out because of her personal vendetta against the president, and that she is just bitter that she lost against him.
