Bread is a hot commodity these days. Even finding the ingredients to make your own bread or buns is a challenge in some parts of the world. When you have to think outside of the box, we’ve come up with some fun burger bun alternatives and tasty CBD condiments to make a great burger night for your family.
We’ve also suggested specific Canna Trading Co. CBD tinctures to use in these recipes, but if you have one on hand that isn’t vanilla or peppermint, you can absolutely substitute what you have on hand.
Hashbrown Patty Buns with CBD Remoulade
What? Hashbrown patties as burger buns? Yes, you read that right. When you cook them a little crispier than normal and use an air fryer or oven, they make a great burger bun alternative. You can also brush them with a seasoned olive oil CBD tincture blend for more flavor after they’ve cooked too.
For this recipe, we are suggesting our Organic Olive Oil Tincture. It’s is the ideal flavor for this remoulade sauce.
8 hashbrown patties (or potato pancakes if you have a good homemade recipe for them)
8 burger patties (any protein or even a Portobello mushroom cap)
16 slices of tomato
8 portions of lettuce
A few thin slices of onion
16 slices of cheese (anything you like even shredded if that’s what’s on hand)
A few pickles per burger
Avocado slices are optional
1 cup mayonnaise
1 dropper of Canna Trading Co. 1500 mg Organic Olive Oil Tincture
¼ cup creole mustard
¼ cup sweet gherkins minced (you can substitute relish too)
1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning (blackening seasoning also works)
1 teaspoon hot sauce
1 clove garlic smashed and minced
2 teaspoons horseradish (can be omitted if it’s not on hand)
1 tablespoon paprika
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Bake your hashbrown patties per the package instructions. After the listed baking time, turn the oven off and add cheese to each patty. Let it melt and remove it from the oven. To make crispier hasnbrowns, increase your baking time by 3 – 5 minutes.
Prepare your burgers while the hashbrown patties bake. Also get your toppings ready, including your remoulade sauce.
The ingredients for the remoulade sauce start with mayonnaise and are the remaining items listed in the recipe. Add everything into a bowl and mix – it’s really easy. It refrigerates for up to 2 weeks in a properly covered container.
Now, if you’re going to brush on some herbed olive oil CBD sauce to the exterior of your hashbrown patties, it’s best to let them sit on paper towels to drain some of the natural oil first. This helps prevent them from becoming too greasy. You’d brush that on after assembling your burgers.
Ramen Noodle Buns with Herbed CBD Slather
Yes, now we’re going to teach you how to make burger buns from ramen noodles. This is also a great alternative when you want burgers but can’t get to the store. You can also use these buns for chicken sandwiches and other alternatives.
4 packages of ramen noodles (1 package per burger)
4 large eggs
Freshly cracked pepper
½ teaspoon Italian seasoning
½ teaspoon ground mustard
½ teaspoon garlic powder
2 droppers Canna Trading Co. Alchemy
¼ cup sour cream
¼ cup Greek yogurt
1 teaspoon fresh or dry dill
1 teaspoon dry Thyme
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
½ teaspoon dry chives (use fresh if you have them. You can also substitute green onions)
For the ramen noodle buns, discard the flavor packets (or use just 1 in the water you use to boil the noodles, it’s super salty. If you do use 1 of the flavor packets, omit the sea salt. Boil the noodles for 3 minutes and drain them.
Beat the eggs and fold in the noodles. Use metal rings (large biscuit cutters) and spray the inside with nonstick cooking spray or wipe them with olive oil. You’ll need 8 rings if you wish to do them all at once, but can just make 1 at a time too if need be.
Place the ring into a nonstick skillet and press 1/8 of the noodle mixture into the ring tightly. Cook about 3 minutes and then flip it over. You should also be able to remove the ring at this point and just flip the ramen bun.
P.S. Mix in about ¼ cup of grated parmesan cheese to your noodle mixture for more flavor and texture. It also helps to hold the mixture together by giving it more body.
The rest of the ingredients are for your schmear. All you have to do here is toss everything in a bowl and mix it up.
The Cake Donut Bun with CBD Drizzle
Donuts are trending as burger and sandwich buns. You can use leftover, day old yeast donuts if you already have them. Making your own cake donuts is also an option. There is a simple recipe available if you’d like to make homemade donuts or have dietary restrictions/allergies in your house.
4 cake donuts
1 dropper Canna Trading Co. Alchemy per donut bun
Yes, 2 ingredients, that’s all. What you’ll do here is slice the donut in half and warm it in a pan to toast the inside that will touch the meat. Once it’s slightly browned, you’ll just drizzle a dropper of Alchemy over the inside of the bun (1/2 of the dropper per side).
Note: Spreading a little mayo on the buns before adding meat and other wet ingredients might help prevent the donut bun from getting soggy.
We suggest cake donuts for burger buns because they are a little sturdier and don’t always have that sweet, sugary coating on them. It’s absolutely okay to use a cake donut that has some spice or cinnamon – those flavors are great for pork and chicken burgers as well as some gamier meats like bison and venison.
Have you ever thought about using these items as a burger bun? All of these ideas are interchangeable. You can use the CBD condiments on any bun or change them. You can get more ideas for CBD condiments in a recent article: Give these Homemade CBD Condiments a Try as well.
