DSM city council to consider marijuana decriminalization task force

The Des Moines City Council will look into a resolution next week to possibly support the idea of decriminalizing marijuana. If the plan moves forward at Monday’s meeting, the council would create a task force. The task force would then help the city create enforcement policy that would make marijuana possession the lowest priority for the Des Moines Police Department. Decriminalizing marijuana in Iowa is on the Des Moines Black Lives Matter group’s list of demands.
