AMCO’s Review of Grease OG

Spread the love

~ This was grown and packed by Native Green Wellness. This batch has a harvest date of April 20, 2020. There is a new batch in cure currently and I wanted to catch up with this one before the new debuted. The lab results for this one are 18.5% THC and 0.402% CBD. The genetics are veiled. Online sources say its a 80% Indica mix of OG strains.

The Looks

~ The look rates 8 out of 10. This has one strawberry shaped bud that is lime green with purples and blues and covered in frost. The stems are all cut short. The eighth of an ounce sample is one large bud and a few smaller pieces. Its still in a zippered bag that compresses the flower. I’m happy to say this is the least squished I’ve ever seen in this style packaging. I’m hopeful that in time we’ll see more glass containers.

lil amber in there

The Smell

~ The smell rates 7 out of 10. I’m missing the fuel notes that I find in most OG strains. They are minimal in this sample. I do detect lots of pine mixed with sweet musty earth and hints of skunk.

Cure

~ The cure also is a little lacking, rating 7 out of 10. Under 40x magnification the tricomb formation is plentiful. The ratio of clouded to clear is close to 80/20. There is only a sprinkling of amber. I’m wondering if those few are due to the sample being over 3 months old and possibly the tricombs are darkened because of the degrading of THC to CBN. But there’s no way to tell until ingesting it. Although CBN has its medical benefits, a darker tricomb head due to degradation is not the same as it being ripened to amber tricombs before curing.

The Taste

~ The taste rates 8 out of 10. Twice I loaded a quarter of a gram into a clean glass pipe blown by Fiona Lavon-Wilson, and Arkansas glass blower. The flavors in the inhale is a melody of skunk, lavender, fuel and earth. It’s quite an enjoyable mixture.

The Effect

~ The effect rates 8 out of 10. After a total half gram dose, my chronic pain was lowered by 2 and nerve pain lowered by 1 on the pain scale. My muscles are relaxed and I’m looking forward to reviewing the new crop soon.

Overall

~ Over all AMCO’s High Opinion of Grease OG rates 7.6 out of 10. For the first cut farmed and sold in house, I think Native Green did a good job. I’ll be looking for the second crop to be available in store soon.
